Louis XVI style bronze dore mounted longcase clock, 20th c., marked after Ferdinand Barbedienne (French, 1810-1892), after a design by Jean Henri Riesener (German-French, 1734-1806), time-strike-and-chime movement marked FHS (Franz Hermle & Sons), lacking glass at back, approx 84"h, 20"w, 13"d Start Price: $4000.00

In my opinion regarding: Lot 1227 - As described, the back viewing panel is lacking glass, I note some light surface wear and small abrasions to case, some separation to the top of the base, inherent pitting, and typical patination to ormolu, both the back and front viewing panels are not closing completely flush. Regarding operational status: We believe the clock to be fully wound, with the chime observed operating (likely Westminster), and we observed the clock operating for five minutes.
