A handsome copy of the first illustrated edition of Don Quixote in English, and the first edition of John Phillips's translation. John Phillips (1631-1706) was the nephew and godson of John Milton (1608-74), and his translation is only the second into the English language following Thomas Shelton's in 1612 (part one only) and 1620 (first complete edition).
