Description
This photograph by noted photographer Margaret Bourke-White (American, 1904-1971) features a gripping portrait of a Russian Machinist. The photo comes from the estate of the artist in Darien, Connecticut. Bourke-White was best known as the first foreign photographer permitted to take pictures of Soviet industry under the Soviets' first five-year plan, and as the first American female war photojournalist.
The frame is 17 1/4 x 14 1/4 x 1 3/8". The mat is 17 x 14" and the mat view is 12 1/2 x 9". The photo is 13 3/8 x 9 1/2".

Condition
The photo is hinged in two places along the top edge to the mat. Minor dings along the edges of the photo. Minor surface scratches and abrasions to the clear acrylic frame. Toning and foxing to the mat and backing.
